Mike E. Johnston, MS, is a Production Scientist and Research Farms Manager for United Animal Health where he oversees the research projects on United's four swine research farms. His research career spans over forty years and has focused on conducting reproduction and nutrition research projects on commercial swine farms. Johnston led the field research for OvuGelĀ® which synchronizes estrus and allows for a single fixed time insemination in sows. He continues to help producers implement OvuGelĀ® on their farms and evaluates and tests new reproduction products for sows and gilts. Prior to joining United Animal Health, he was the research manager for an 85,000 commercial sow operation.
