Dr. Laxmi Yeruva is a Research Leader of Microbiome and Metabolism Research Unit, USDA-ARS which is co-located with Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center. She studies how early life factors (i.e., diet, physical activity, environment and microbiota) play a role on child health and development with emphasis on the gastrointestinal tract, microbiota, brain, and immune system. Her research has been supported by federal agencies (USDA-ARS, NIH) and private industries. She serves on journal editorial boards, grant panels (i.e., NIH study and various international agencies), organizes conferences and mentor’s junior investigators, students, and postdoctoral fellows. Her passion is to benefit the community through scientific solutions and evidence-based results.
