Chad Russell is a Doctorate student a University of Nebraska - Lincoln studying Animal Breeding & Genetics. He grew up in southeasten Colorado on a seedstock ranch that raised Simmental and SimAngus cattle. By being involved with the Simmental breed by attending National Western Stock Show and regional and national shows, Chad met Dr. Wade Schafer, who convinced him that his love for math and animals might go well together as an animal geneticist. Chad went on to attend Colorado State University where he earned two Bachelor's degrees in Animal Science and Mathematics. He is now at UNL, studying under Dr. Matthew Spangler, where he also earned his Master's Degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics.
