My PhD research focuses on the intersection of trace mineral nutrition, metabolic regulation, and growth physiology in beef cattle. I have investigated how copper status influences the efficacy of novel growth-promoting technologies, as well as its role in adipose tissue metabolism. Additionally, my work has explored the metabolic and inflammatory changes in adipose tissue as cattle progress through finishing, with a particular emphasis on insulin resistance and the differentiation between visceral and subcutaneous fat depots. I have also examined the effects of vitamin supplementation on transit stress recovery, contributing to a broader understanding of
nutritional strategies to optimize cattle performance and carcass composition.
