Dr. Michael Welch is a research veterinarian with Carthage Innovative Swine Solutions. He graduated with his DVM in 2020 and PhD in veterinary microbiology in 2021 from Iowa State University. His current responsibilities include the oversight of data quality and analysis from two 6,000 sow farms and two 5,000 head finishers. In addition, he manages Carthage's infectious disease facility where he conducts BSL2 challenge trials with swine viral and bacterial pathogens.
