Ashlee Gibbons is a Graduate Research Assistant at Kansas State University Olathe, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Animal Science under the mentorship of Dr. Haley Larson. She began her graduate studies in August 2024 after completing a summer internship with Merck Animal Health at their diagnostic laboratory in Lawrence, KS. Gibbons' research focuses on ruminant nutrition and health, with an emphasis on parasitology and microscopy techniques for beef cattle diagnostics. She earned her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University, where she conducted research under the supervision of Dr. Terry Engle. Her undergraduate work investigated copper concentrations in liver and duodenum tissues of Rambouillet-crossbred sheep, as well as the influence of trace mineral sources on rumen microbes.
